Dal Bhaji / Parippu Bhaji
Daal bhaji or parippu bhaji is a makeover to Kerala Parippu Vada, Try this easy recipe for your ifthar and leave your valuable feed back's in in the comment box below.

  1. Kadalaparippu (chana dal) – 1 cup
  2. Onion chopped thinly-1
  3. Fennel seeds-1/4 tsp
  4. Ginger chopped thinly-1tbsp
  5. Green chilly chopped thinly- ½ tsp
  6. Curry leaves chopped thinly-2strings
  7. Coriander leaves chopped-1 tbsp
  8. Asafoetida- a pinch
  9. Salt-to taste
  10. Baking soda-1/4 tsp
  11. Oil-for frying
  • Soak the chana dal in water for 3-4 hours.
  • Drain it well.
  • In a blender add this dal, onion, green chilly, fennel seeds, and ginger.
  • Blend smooth (having tiny bites is ok); if necessary add little water.
  • Mix it with all other ingredients except oil.
  • Drop small spoons of batter in to hot oil and deep fry until golden and crisp.
  • Drain in to paper towels and enjoy the crispy balls
  • Note:If you add water for grinding; the batter becomes loose. So add little rice flour to make it thick.
